Patient Information from the 2009 Breast Cancer Symposium
Do your patients have questions about the cost of cancer care? Cancer.Net’s Managing the Cost of Cancer Care booklet, developed by ASCO’s Cost of Care Task Force Patient Resources Subcommittee, provides tools and resources that can help your patients answer their questions and plan for costs before, during, and after treatment.

To order copies for your patients, contact the ASCO Communications and Patient Information Department at 888-651-3038, or send an e-mail to contactus@ cancer.net. The booklet is also available as a free, downloadable PDF at www.cancer.net/managingcostofcare, and in Spanish at www.cancer.net/spanish.
For the second year, ASCO is part of a national campaign to raise awareness of cancers that affect women. Kaleidoscope, formerly known as Frosted Pink with a Twist, is a televised music and figure skating event and education campaign hosted by cancer survivors Olivia Newton John and Scott Hamilton. The event will air nationwide on Fox on November 26 (Thanksgiving Day) from 4:30 PM –6:00 PM EST.

Cancer.Net is the official clinical cancer information resource for Kaleidoscope, making it an extraordinary opportunity for ASCO and Cancer.Net to reach a large audience. For more information, visit www.cancer.net.
Help your patients learn about the research highlighted at the 2009 Breast Cancer Symposium, to be held October 8–10 in San Francisco, California, with the special online newsletter, Cancer Advances: News for Patients from the 2009 Breast Cancer Symposium.

In addition, Cancer.Net provides more information about breast cancer research and treatment in a question-and-answer article that taps into the expertise of AS CO’s membership. Your patients can also listen online to a podcast of the symposium highlights or download it free of charge.

Direct your patients to www.cancer.net/breastsymposium for these materials.
