2008 Sessions Available through Podcast Program
Presentations from the 2008 Annual Meeting are now available in the most cutting-edge technologic format: audio podcasts. More than 1,000 audio captures of Meeting presentations are included as part of the 2008 Annual Meeting Podcast Program. Podcast technology allows users the flexibility to stream audio files from a computer, download them to an MP3 player, or burn them to CDs. Once the files have been received, users can conveniently review sessions on the road, at home, or in the office, without the need for a dedicated Internet connection.
Subscribers to the 2008 Annual Meeting Podcast will also receive exclusive access to the 2007 Annual Meeting Podcast, as well as video podcasts of key sessions from the Meeting.
To access this resource, visit the Podcasts section of the “Downloads and Technology” area on ASCO.org (
www.asco.org/podcast). Those who cannot attend the Annual Meeting can attend it virtually, via the podcast, while Annual Meeting attendees can revisit the Meeting as well as listen to missed sessions for $125 (nonmember price: $225).
Virtual Meeting Offers Exclusive Access to Cutting-edge Science from Annual Meeting
In 2008, Annual Meeting presentations were posted to the ASCO.org Virtual Meeting, the largest collection of multimedia oncology presentations on the Web, within 24 hours of the conclusion of live sessions. More than 850 presentations and 3,500 abstracts from the Meeting are currently available in audio/slide and slide-only format. As in the past, each session page contains links to related abstracts or Educational Book manuscripts. Speaker homepages contain links to additional related abstracts, other Virtual Meeting presentations, Educational Book manuscripts, and relevant JCO articles and PubMed citations.
Members who would like access to this valuable resource can purchase subscriptions at
www.asco.org/vm for $95 (nonmember price: $195). Subscriptions are available through the end of September, at which time all Virtual Meeting content will become available to the general public at no charge.
